International Dance Supplies Picks Nellie PR

Nellie PR awarded new PR brief to promote Made in Britain dancewear brand 1st Position.

International Dance Supplies (IDS) based in Newton Abbot has selected Nellie PR to handle public relations for its UK-made 1st Position dancewear brand.

IDS, the UK’s largest dancewear supplier with a £9 million turnover, design and manufacture its own 1st Position dancewear brand in the UK. 1st Position is the official uniform for many UK and international dance associations, including American Ballet Theatre after IDS became one of the first non-American dancewear suppliers to break the US.

The PR brief will focus on media relations and campaign strategy to highlight the brand’s Made in Britain credentials and raise the profile of its founder Anne Walker, MBE.

Young dance teacher Anne Walker founded 1st Position in 1978, after becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of good quality dancewear available. 35 years later 1st Position export to 53 countries worldwide, and is enjoying record sales.

Nellie PR, based at The Innovation Centre in Exeter was invited to pitch for the account following successful PR work on behalf of other UK manufacturing and retail clients.

Nellie PR relocated its headquarters from Nottingham to Exeter in early 2013 and is currently growing its team in the South West.
