Last night we attended the launch in Nottingham of the Nottingham Creative Business Awards.
It’s great that Nottingham is showcasing the best of its creative businesses and we will be encouraging our Nottingham-based clients to enter. However, it’s a pity they don’t have a category for creative PR businesses like Nellie PR to enter – we’ll have to ask about that.
The deadline is Tuesday 19 August 2008 and it’s free to enter. See www.creativeawards.biz for more information.
We have just completed copywriting the latest newsletter from East Midlands Development Agency (emda). emda News is published quarterly and Nellie PR provided all the copywriting as well as overseeing the design. The newsletter has now gone to print but you can see the latest edition here.

At Nellie PR we like to get the message out about the effectiveness of public relations. So, last night Ellen Carroll, director of Nellie PR, took to the stage as part of a panel for a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) event in Nottingham.
The event was all about marketing on a shoestring budget and more than 40 people came along. Members of the audience were able to ask questions of the panel and Ellen was kept busy with plenty of PR questions coming her way. We hope her hints and tips on PR proved useful.
Nellie PR’s public relations, online PR and copywriting services have been recognised and approved.
As of today, we are now a fully approved and accredited service supplier after being awarded the East Midlands Development Agency (emda) Quality Assured standard via its East Midlands Brokerage Platform scheme.
We were awarded a five star rating and provided with approved status after participating in a rigorous assessment during which our clients were surveyed and references sought. From today, businesses using Nellie PR as an approved service supplier for public relations, online PR or copywriting will be able to apply for funding from Business Link and other government bodies to help cover some of the costs. As a result, businesses will get up to 50% towards the cost.
Happy birthday to us and thanks to all our public relations, copywriting and online PR clients for making it such a fantastic year.
During our first year of business we hooked up with and delivered work for some great names and businesses, including:
- Experian – a global leader in providing information, analytical tools and marketing services to organisations and consumers
- annie greenabelle – a fantastic ethical womenswear label
- AreaFour Recording Industries – a not-for-profit record label part of the Partnership Council
- Prowess – the UK association of organisations and individuals who support women to start and grow businesses.
Long may it continue and here’s to another successful year.
